A thousand years ago, alchemists from the kingdom walked here on a pilgrimage and the words of Freyja changed the lives of the people already living in the region. They swore themselves to her. The grand temple, Sessrumnir, stands at the centre of the capital; the state is governed by a single pope. Around the city: the Od Canyon, the Audumbla grassland, the ice cave beneath Sessrumnir, and Portus Luna on the shore.

The uncomfortable part of the history is that the pilgrims' descendants ended up ruling the natives of the land they had come to convert — and the unspoken rules about how those people are treated have held ever since.
