Rune-Midgarts
Prontera
the crown on the hill
- prontera
- capital of Rune-Midgarts
A white city built on a hill, with a castle at the top and a fountain at the bottom, and a thousand years of etiquette in between.
Prontera is where the kingdom keeps its institutions: the Church, the King's Chivalry, the training yards where new Swordsmen are made. By royal decree the fountain square is a free market, so merchants, pilgrims and recruits all end up standing in the same circle arguing about prices. The King lets anyone walk up to the castle; he is simply never in the chamber when you arrive. The kingdom is officially dry, which is why the tavern's back room matters to the people who know about it.
