Kunlun — the rock above the clouds

A mountain that is not attached to anything, holding a village of people trying to stop being people.

Kunlun's faith is unlike anything in the west: anyone can become a hermit — an absolute being — through enough discipline. Many have. The problem is that a few of them kept their old appetites after ascending, and the horrors that followed spilled into the neighbouring lands. The shrine at the centre of the village is where the attempt is made.
