Wise Old Woman — card removal

Wise Old Woman — editorial service illustration

“You want it out, or you want it back? Different jobs.”

The card remover, in a house interior rather than the street. She is the only service NPC who is not in the square, and that is deliberate: what she does is irreversible. Shop Street** — thirty-two vendors in two rows, from daggers to hats. Not characters. Write it as a place: the noise, the prices, the fact that nobody there will tell you which weapon is correct.
